Last week Room 19 was surprised to see a snail making its way across the steps into the classroom. It was a unanimous decision to adopt the snail as our new class pet. The first step was to think of a name for him. The final names we voted on were: Usain Bolt, Slick Willis or Gary. It was a close vote but Gary was the most popular name. We were initially concerned about whether he was a boy or a girl, then we discovered that snails are hermaphodites - they all lay eggs!
Today we have been writing up instructions on how to make a suitable home for Gary. Here are some photos Angus took of Gary's new home. We had lots of fun watching Gary explore his aquarium.
