We have been working on contractions and now it is time to consolidate some of our learning. Below are some tasks and activities that will help you.
Task 1.
Sentences
- Head up a new page in your Reading & Word Exploration Book with the date.
- Write each of the contractions from your spelling list in a sentence.
- Use capital letters, apostrophes and full stops.
- Underline your spelling word and remember your sentence MUST MAKE SENSE!
- Check your work.
- Put it on the marking table for the teacher to check.
Task 2.
Poem
- Read this week's poem with a learning buddy.
- Use your highlighter to underline all the contractions.
- Taking turns with your buddy, tell them what the expanded form of the contraction is.
