The Olympic Games

Our new Inquiry unit is about the competition and links to the Olympic Games. We will be kicking this off on Thursday with the revised Invasion Games Tournament that we had to postpone because of the snow.

Click on the Olympic Rings on the sidebar to try some online games based on the Olympics. I particularly like the flag match up game and I know that a lot of you will do very well.

Term 2 Big Day Out at ImpactAlpha Gymnastics

The room was full of excited children as Room 19 and Room 17 headed off on the bus to ImpactAlpha Gymnastics. When we arrived we had to do some warm-up dancing. It sounded funny because the music kept skipping and stopping. The instructors lined us up in teams and we went to different activities. Some of the activities were trampolining, spring boards, beams, bars and rings. A whistle blew when it was time to go to our next rotation. We felt very proud when we managed to do some things we found tricky. By the time we left at 11:00am everyone was very tired. On the way home we could hear our tummies rumbling like thunder rumbling around the hills. "That was an awesome morning!" we exclaimed.

Urgent - Invasion Games Tournament Monday afternoon

In the confusion of last week we forgot to send a notice home asking Year 3 / 4 children to have sports gear (tracksuit pants/leggings and suitable footwear) at school on Monday (hopefully). Mrs Jones is running an Invasion Games tournament from 1 - 2.45 on our field. We will be competing against children from other schools, so fingers crossed that the snow has cleared and it's not a southerly gale so that we can hold the event.

Can you please bring some sports gear on Monday? If you see any of your friends from St Albans this weekend please make sure they know to do this too ( you could even give them a call ).
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again bright and early on Monday morning. We have a busy day ahead as we also have a choir practice for the concert.

Keep warm - I'm loving my log fire this week!

Butterfly Garden Underway

Development of the butterfly garden is underway! Everyone was very excited to be able to get their hands dirty and contribute towards the project. Thanks to Jock Scott for his skills and assistance with the garden edging. Here are some photos taken by the children.
