Inquiry Presentation to PTA

On Wednesday night, five children from Room 19 had the opportunity to present our Inquiry proposal at the PTA Meeting. Luca, Nicole, Niamh M, Lachlan and Charlotte talked about our idea for a butterfly garden.  They did an awesome job and we hope to start building the garden next week. Check out our wall display in the classroom for more information.

Thanks to Sam Coultas from Room 21 for the photos.

Year 3 Assembly - 15 May 2012

The IT gremlins were up to mischief in our assembly today. Quillan and Niamh B did a stirling job of carrying on despite the problems. Certificates were awarded to:

Fynn Marshall - Heart of Achievement Award
Angus Hill - Achievement Certificate
Quillan Dextar - Values Certificate

Keep up the great work guys.

We also managed to use the time to practise our Inquiry presentation to the PTA.

Bug Prints

Last Friday we started making prints with Mrs Brown. We looked at pictures of insects, did a practice drawing then carved it into a piece of polystyrene tray. After that we used rollers and ink to coat the tray then pressed it carefully onto a piece of paper.

Here are a few pictures of our first efforts taken by Jada-Lee our class photographer last week.

R.I.P. Ruby

We had very sad news when we arrived in class this morning - our class frog Ruby had died.

Here are some of the things we shared about Ruby in our Trust Circle this morning.

She was not usually very good at catching flies but she NEVER gave up trying.

She was funny when she was trying to climb up the side to hide in the corner.

She was special.

We were kind to her.

We loved having her in the class.

She was good at jumping.

Sometimes it was hard to find her because she was very good at hiding.

We didn't know her for very long.

She was the best pet.

She was funny when we had to move her out of her tank to clean it.

Everyone liked her.

We liked to watch her catch flies.

WE WILL MISS HER!
